GTTP Ballet Academy is a specialized program for students who are interested in the art of classical Ballet, Pointe work and Contemporary, who desire to pursue excellence in Ballet. We focus on the foundation of classical ballet and proper technique in every style of dance. GTTP has 2 perfomances per dance season, a Christmas review and a spring review. GTTP believes strongly in teaching students the art of storyline through dance, each review features a storyline rooted in classics and contemporary stories that are reinterpreted and fully choereographed by GTTP.
Originally from Monroe, Sarah Ochs danced with Twin City Ballet Company for 11 years. At the age of 18, she became an Artist- in- Residence with Twin City Ballet Company and performed with the company until the age of 21. Sarah has performed in multiple classical ballets as a soloist, such as the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and much more. She moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, in 2007, and studied dance at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She also has performed as a soloist for the ULL dance apartment. She has received training from Austin Ballet Company, New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, and Lafayette Ballet Theatre. Throughout the years, Sarah has received multiple scholarships from Twin City Ballet Company for her talent, dedication, and hard work. Among these scholarships, is the Cecilia Kelly Scholarship, which she received in 2005.She also performed with Twin City Ballet Company at the Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival in 2002 and 2003 and has received multiple scholarships at the Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival in 2002 and 2005. Sarah also received a scholarship to Lafayette Ballet Company to study Ballet in 2010.
Miss Kathy has been dancing as long as she can remember. From dancing with a studio to choreographing for theatre productions, she has continued to grow in and hone her craft. Currently, Miss Kathy directs theatre at Pineville Junior High, coaches the Vol Doll danceline and boosters, and teaches Class 6 tap and hip hop. She looks forward to continuing to expand her knowledge of the art of dance in order to challenge and grow her students.

Joy's dance background:
• Started ballet training at the age of 4, taking with Dance by Debra
• At the age of 5 moved studios and took ballet, tap and jazz from Rita Barton at Cenla Academy of performing Arts for 12 years
• Competed in Louisiana Jr. Miss and Miss Louisiana performing a tap routine in the talent competition
• Took two years of hip hop during college
• Participated in an adult tap class at Louisiana Athletic Club
• Attended adult ballet classes during summer
Graduate of Alexandria Senior High (2003) and Louisiana College (2007) majored in Elementary Education. Taught 5th grade in Rapides Parish. Lived in Birmingham, AL and taught 5th grade in the Hoover City School District.
We are beyond excited to welcome Danielle Hall to the GTTP Faculty! Danielle will be an amazing addition to classes 3 & 4 !
Danielle Hall is an alumni dancer for Red River Dance Theater Company. She is excited that she decided to join Red River Company and help them this year in The Nutcracker. She is a retired dancer of 15 years. She started dance when she was just 3 years of age under Rita Barton and Carrie Young at Cenla Academy of Performing Arts, then proceeded until her Senior year of high school under Sarah Ochs at Get To The Pointe Ballet. She joined the Red River Dance Company under the direction of Linda Mioton to perform in The Nutcracker in 2009. In 2012 she took on the lead role as “Clara” in The Nutcracker being the first African American dancer in the history of Red River Dance Company to perform the lead role. Danielle has been in many other performances such as Snow White (2013 and 2019) Peter and the Wolf (2017) and Alice in Wonderland (2018). Danielle is currently attending college at Louisiana State University at Alexandria in pursuit of Education.
Combo classes are designed to teach all three genres of dances. Ballet,Tap, and Jazz. It is important for a dancer to be fluent in all three.
GTTP offers 6 levels of combo classes.
ages 3 to 18.
Combo class 1 and 2 is tap and ballet only. Combo class 3 though 6 is Ballet,Tap and Jazz.
GTTP offers Pre-Pointe and 3 differnt three different levels of Pointe classes. GTTP also offers and extra ballet class and a Pointe Variation class. In Pre-Pointe and all Pointe classes, we work on stretching and strengthening techniques to help develop the muscles requred to do classical Pointe.
Also all students or required to do 2 to 3 years of Pre-Pointe before they are able to get their Pointe shoes.
At GTTP we offer 2 different contemporary classes: junior contemporary and senior contemporary. Contemporary is the mix of classical ballet, modern and Jazz technique. At GTTP we pride ourselves on having new and innovative contemporary choreography and style.
GTTP offers one Hip hop class for ages 12-18! this class is a fun and energetic class that will help students learn the foundations of Hip-Hop
GTTP company competition team is a pre-professional program for students that would lke to pursue a career in dance.
