Originally from Monroe, Louisiana, Sarah began her illustrious dance journey with the Twin City Ballet Company, where she trained and performed for 11 years. At just 18, she became an Artist-in-Residence with the company, a distinction that highlighted her exceptional talent and dedication. As a soloist, Sarah brought to life iconic roles in timeless productions such as The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty, showcasing her technical prowess and artistic versatility.
Her passion for dance led her to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2007, where she further honed her craft. During her time there, she performed as a soloist for the ULL Dance Department, solidifying her reputation as a standout performer. Sarah's training is a mosaic of prestigious institutions, including Austin Ballet Company, the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, and Lafayette Ballet Theatre. Each experience enriched her technique and broadened her artistic perspective.
Sarah's dedication to dance has been recognized with numerous scholarships, a reflection of her talent and relentless work ethic. Among these honors are multiple scholarships from Twin City Ballet Company, including the esteemed Cecilia Kelly Scholarship in 2005. She also received scholarships at the Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival in 2002 and 2005, as well as a scholarship to study with Lafayette Ballet Theatre in 2010. Her performances at the Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival in 2002 and 2003 further underscored her status as a rising star in the dance community.
Recently, Sarah Ochs Ranson has created original pieces for her studio, Get To The Pointe Ballet Academy, that have placed at prestigious accredited dance competitions such as Youth American Grand Prix, New York City Dance Alliance, and NUVO Dance Competition.
Today, Sarah Ochs Ranson channels her rich history and diverse training into her choreography. Her work is celebrated for its ability to seamlessly intertwine classical discipline with modern innovation, creating pieces that are both technically exquisite and emotionally resonant. Whether crafting a solo, duet, or ensemble work, Sarah's choreography speaks to the universal language of movement, leaving an indelible impression on all who experience it.
